ART, CONTEMPORARY/ABSTRACT FUN WITH ACRYLIC, BEGINNING: When life stresses you, immerse yourself in Art! Discover the unbelievable fun of creating abstraction with acrylic paints. Your enjoyment relies on the stretch of your imagination. Bring whatever supplies you have to the first class, then the teacher will give you a list of supplies needed for the remaining classes.

ART, OIL PAINTING, ALL LEVELS: Beginning students will become familiar with paint mixing and application techniques and will work on projects that help them understand the paint’s properties. The class allows for individual attention from the instructor as students are given plenty of studio time to work on their own paintings. Students who have experience with color theory and color mixing and are ready to paint on their own will continue to improve with helpful tips and guidance from the teacher. Bring whatever supplies you have to the first class.

ART, POTTERY: A hands-on course designed for beginners/advanced potters with step-by-step instructions. A project will be created each week, with time to create additional items. At the end of the course, all students should have at least four finished projects. Instruction in hand building and the potter's wheel is included in the curriculum, along with many glazing approaches. There is an extra $40.00 lab fee for clay and glazes.

Class will cover revocable livings trusts, corpations, Limited Lialabilty Companies, real estate wills, keeping real estate out of probate. Learn about current Naples real estate trends, taking loans from IRA to buy real estate, understanding real estate contracts, learn about how much insurance you should have on your house, what are the tax advantages of having a mortgage or not, when is the best time to buy or sell real estate in today’s market. REAL ESTATE FOR FIRST-TIME HOME BUYERS: This course is designed for first-time home buyers or parents and grandparents who want to help their children purchase a home and receive a tax benefit. Identify the first steps of home ownership: How much money do you need for a down payment? How does your credit score affect buying a home? How much of a home can you afford?  Learn the monthly cost difference in house vs. condo.  Understand real estate market trends, where to get the best info about purchasing a home, how to obtain State bonds to help with your down payment, and how parents and grandparents can benefit from tax write offs.

COMPUTER, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, BEGINNING: Learn the fundamentals of graphic design using Adobe Photoshop. Explore basic concepts of image editing, including working with the toolbox, selections, resizing, layers, image resolution, and more.

COMPUTER, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, INTERMEDIATE (This course starts July 10): An in-depth study of Photoshop, including working with masks, channels, actions, adjustment layers, photo retouch, photo enhancing, etc. Students may bring in projects such as digital photographs on which they are working.

COMPUTER, ANDROID TABLET, TIPS AND TRICKS: This class will teach tips and tricks to make using your Android tablet easy, fun and rewarding. The Android tablet is a versatile tool with a surprising number of applications (apps). This class will help you set up the default apps that come with the Android as well as the best apps that are free (or inexpensive) and most helpful and useful to you. Learn how to set up email, use GPS, shoot high-definition (HD) video to store, send as email, or post online; get a WiFi connection, and even watch movies or TV shows. Also learn how to save battery life and decrease frequency of charging.

COMPUTER ASSISTED DRAFTING (CAD), BEGINNING: Drafting, auto menus, command menus, and table menus using the Auto CAD software will be covered.

COMPUTER, DREAMWEAVER BASIC WEB DESIGN: Learn the basics of Adobe Dreamweaver to build an effective, easy-to-market, search-engine friendly, cross-browser compliant website for personal or business use. No web design background necessary, but basic computer skills required.

COMPUTER, ELEMENTS: You have a digital camera and digital photographs; now learn to use Photoshop Elements software on your PC to input, organize, improve, and exhibit your pictures using slide shows, album pages, websites, Vcd disks and more. This course will multiply the list of plants that you know, and are comfortable using, in the inimitable style of the instructor, known as the Design Pundit. We will look at shrubs, trees, aquatics; learn to identify them; and how to use them. Through the use of slides, handouts, and the internet, you will learn to make sense of the Florida landscape.

WRITING, CREATIVE: If you love to tell stories or share past experiences, this class is for you! Learn to weave engaging plots and select key events to grab the reader. We'll focus on fiction and memoir as we explore creative writing elements such as conflict/drama, characterization, viewpoint, pacing, and description through in-class writing exercises. Students of all levels will learn from each other through guided manuscript critique. A survey of the publishing field with tips on reaching editors is also provided.

WRITING, NON-FICTION: Interested in writing articles? Non-fiction is a great way to break into print! Learn to craft clear, concise copy - for magazines, ads, brochures, or websites. This class will cover different types of non-fiction writing and the process in developing an idea through a plan to a manuscript. Narrowing focus, finding sources, interviewing, pitching to editors/publishers, and targeting appropriate audience are discussed. Students at all levels will learn from each other as manuscripts are shared for comment during class time.
